When you are trying to remove particles from the air to provide a clean and healthy atmosphere, there are various types of filters that you can use – including either a mechanical filter or an electrostatic air filter.

Both filters are designed to remove particles from the air that can be harmful to humans, to ensure a clean and healthy atmosphere.

Mechanical filters physically trap harmful particles such as dust, smoke, pollen, mites, mould and viruses in a filter.

Electrostatic filters draw air through an ionization area, which charges particles and then attracts and captures the charged particles on a series of flat plates.

You might wonder why you need an air filter at all, but the reality is that it’s not always possible to open up buildings to the wonderfully natural outside air to help regulate the air within.

APSS technicians have extensive experience in the maintenance of electrostatic air filters and can recommend a routine preventative maintenance program to maintain the efficiency of this equipment.
